As a Career Coach with over 20 years experience, I’ve increasingly found that my clients are talking to me about students who are family members, who are struggling with what to do next or how to get into the kind of work they are interested in. I want to help students work out what to do next, and so my idea for career workbooks was born!
I’m Sarah, and I have 2 sons in their early 20’s, and they too experienced tricky decisions when they decided they didn’t want to stick with traditional routes for sixth form or university.
Alongside my work with senior career professionals, I decided that I want to help students with working out what is next and so have developed a series of workbooks (16 and Stuck?, 18 and Stuck? and Out of Uni and Stuck? which each focus on those key milestones within education.
Each book starts with a comic strip which follows a character through some of the issues that students face. There are then a series of exercises to help work out options for what might come next.
The bi-product of working through these exercises, is that you will start to build information about yourself that you can use at interviews for your next educational setting or job applications. You will be able to see what you need to do to become more employable.
I also offer 1:1 coaching sessions and guest lectures at education establishments.
You can find out more about me and my professional qualifications over on my website for career professionals and businesses who are looking for career and/or LinkedIn coaching.
I worked with Ellie (Elbow) Davey on the illustrations for these books. Ellie is an artist currently studying for a BA in Comic & Concept Art. I’d seen Ellie’s work and asked her if she would be up for illustrating my short stories for the And Stuck? series, and I’m so pleased she agreed, and brought the characters to life.
